     I have been a practicing Doula, joyfully attending births in the Colorado Springs region, since 1998. I am also a homebirth midwife, licensed massage therapist, Certified Neuromuscular Therapist an I have an advanced degree in Naturopathy from Trinity College of Natural Health.

         I have focused all of my skills and knowledge on encouraging healthy mothers and babies. I believe the role of a birth attendant is to offer support, encouragement and education, all with a minimum of interventions. Birth flows best when interfered with as little as possible and as much as necessary!  

    I offer my skills as a midwife to help you labor safely at home, before heading to the hospital. I am able to perform internal exams and monitor your baby's heart rate as you wish. You may chose instead for me to meet you at the hospital once you are admitted, whichever seems best. You can also feel free to call me 24/7 with any questions or concerns about your impending labor. My massage skills often come in handy during labor, and a postpartum home visit massage may be scheduled for an additional fee.  

          Having a doula at your birth may be of tremendous benefit to you, and a relief to your partner, who will not feel overwhelmed as your sole support person. I encourage partner involvement, but understand that during a long or difficult labor, it is wonderful to have additional support!
